The next AIFOD (AI for Developing Countries Forum) global summit is scheduled to take place in Nairobi in February 2027.

Overview of the Nairobi Summit & AIFOD

• Context: The upcoming Nairobi summit follows the August 2026 AIFOD Summit held in Geneva, Switzerland, where participants adopted the Geneva Compact on AI Sovereignty. 
• Focus: AIFOD summits center on AI sovereignty, digital inclusion, building local capabilities, and preventing digital colonization for the Global South. 
• Organization: AIFOD is a Geneva-based global nonprofit organization established in 2023 that hosts regional and global summits at United Nations venues across Vienna, Geneva, Bangkok, and Nairobi.
