Role Overview

The Media Outreach Manager will spearhead media engagement and partnerships to highlight Ground Zero's key development initiatives (such as Rural Transformation, Health, Education, Sports for Development, Disaster Response, and Urban Renewal). This role establishes the organization's thought leadership footprint across mainstream and development media platforms.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Build and maintain excellent relationships with journalists specializing in Ground Zero’s core pillars of work.
• Develop press releases, secure media partnerships, and conceptualize/organize media workshops or field site visits.
• Connect internal spokespersons with the media to provide quotes, stories, and blogs on relevant development themes.
• Support communication campaigns to secure generic media pickup, in-depth articles, and thought pieces.
• Ensure leaders and thematic experts are featured in external events following streamlined participation guidelines.
• Actively track potential awards and public forums to establish Ground Zero’s contributions and work.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in print, visual, or online media, specifically acting as a journalist or PR professional within the development sector.
• Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of at least two core pillars of Ground Zero's development work.
• Desirable: Exceptional networking skills within both mainstream and development media writing spaces.
